Helpful tools for HTML Coder and Web Page Authors and Designers

There are Three Necessary Tools to do a web page

The First is a Web Browser:

MS Internet Explorer
Firefox
Safari
Chrome
Opera
others are available, or if you know Java or C language, It is possible to write your own.

The Second Tool is a text editor (NOT a Word Processor).

For PC - my first choice is Windows Notepad. This is found by clicking:
- - Start
- - - Accessories
- - - - Notepad
For Mac's I have used TextEdit and SimpleText in an earlier OS.
I have more experience with the Windows side of the text editing, but I learned how to do web pages originally on a Mac. Mac people note: If you have different experience I need some collaboration here. My email address is jberinger~at~xcp.org
Suggestion to all: Keep you files in one "folder" or "directory" that is easy to find.

The Third Tool is an FTP Program (a File Transfer Protocol Program)

For PC - my first choice is WS_FTP LE Ver. 5.08- It is FREE for personal and student use.
WS_FTP is also offered in a professional version for a reasonable cost.
For Mac's I have used Fetch 3.0 when it was for free.
Currently look for "Classic FTP" in your Mac Applications.
There are Free FTP programs for Mac, but I have not evaluated any of them. I need some collaboration here. My email address is jberinger~at~xcp.org
